Southern Cross Affiliated Providers
As a designated auditing agency HDANZ has been approved by Southern Cross Health Society to audit and certify their affiliated providers to either:
- NZS 8164:2005 Day Stay Surgery and Procedures Sector Standard
- NZS 8165:2005 Rooms / Office Based Surgery and Procedures Sector Standard
This enables Southern Cross to provide assurance that their contracted providers are delivering better value healthcare in meeting recognised standards for safety and quality. Current affiliated providers are required to have achieved certification by July 2015 and new providers are expected to be certified at the time of contracting with Southern Cross. A self-assessment tool is avilable for use as part of completion of a Stage 1 document review that precedes the audit on-site visit and processes by 1-2 months.
This New Zealand Standard is presented in six sections:
- Consumer / Patient Focused Service
- Organisational Management (8164) / or Facility Management (8165)
- Pre-entry to Service
- Service delivery
- Managing service delivery
- Safe and appropriate environment
